Shea Sullivan is a California born, London based choreographer and interdisciplinary artist. Shea’s first love was experimental / noise music, and began her dance training with improvisation at age 20 in the greater Los Angeles area. She holds a BA from London Contemporary Dance School, MA from Guildhall School of Music and Drama in Collaborative Theatre Production and Design. Her work has been featured in the UK, France, and United States, with choreographic experience expanding into contemporary circus, opera, and dance. As a performer, her experience ranges from nightlife, improvisation, and concert dance to puppetry. Recently, her work Emanations of Disfigurement (2022) (2026) was featured as part of Resolutions Festival. Premiering throughout 2026 are a series of solos works. She is a regular collaborator of theatre maker Carla Ng, ‘professional crazy person’ and costume designer Jo Frazer, composer / saxophonist Lydia Kenny, playwright / director Julia Pascal, owner of CovenHQ, musical artist, and writer Jacobs Morgan, and various photographers.
Born with a visible facial difference, she creates from ‘the clefted perspective’ - working with polar opposites, contradiction, mystery, and bridging gaps in unlikely places. An esoteric sense of splitness echoing throughout her life and practice which derive from physical form and lineage. This research may present as comedy, guerrilla performance, cabaret, text, and painting. Currently, Shea is working on multiple performance based projects which investigate tensions between forms. These forms may be states of time, geographic location,
Shea’s greatest joy is collaboration and her biggest strength is seeking to objectively identifying emotional patterns within the each authentic and unique forms each artist works with.
