Horse Person Opera

Tet a Tet Opera Festival

Cockpit Theatre, London UK

Choreographer / Movement Directon

Horse Person Opera was a collaborative, research intense process. The show balanced multiple dance numbers alongside constructing ‘bibilically accurate’ centaur people. At times, choreography was made for the human form, other times built on top centaur forms.

The research and development process for physicality and dancers took place in Los Angles California, made possible by Brockus Studios. Supported heavily by anatomical and academic research, Circle D Ranch kindly provided in-person feedback on gates, social structures, and psychology of both wild and working horses.

Power. Respect. Hooves. Two brothers are fused into one centaur. They will have to work together if they are going to survive this comic sci-fi opera. But can they put their differences aside? Who will hold the reins of power?

HORSE PERSON OPERA will take you on a fantastical journey through a barrage of musical styles. This will be a work-in-progress staging.
